• Transom frame section: integrated above the door; ships KD and assembles in the field.
• Transom glass: 1/4" tempered safety glass, crated separately and field installed after frame is set and sealed.
• Exterior sill package: commercial threshold plus sill flashing to integrate with the wall’s drainage plane.

Wall Type & Exterior Weatherproofing - Pre-Cast Concrete

Designed for pre-cast concrete wall panels with joints, reveals, and embedded hardware. The included threshold, sill flashing, and head flashing/drip edge integrate with commercial sealants to help shed water at both the sill and transom head.

• Coordinate with the GC/engineer for embed plates/inserts or receiver angles at jambs and head where required.
• Anchorage: use engineer-approved mechanical expansion or adhesive anchors into pre-cast, or fasten to embeds/inserts per project details; verify edge distances and minimum embedment.
• Prepare a flat, level, structurally sound sill; bed threshold in continuous sealant and integrate sill flashing with positive slope to exterior.
• Treat adjacent panel control/expansion joints with backer rod and compatible sealant; allow for anticipated movement.
• Shim jambs, head, and transom mullions to maintain plumb, level, and square; verify clear opening and reveal uniformity.
• Use compatible sealants for pre-cast substrates; prime where specified by the manufacturer.

Anchors, embeds, and structural attachment are by installer to match site-specific panel design and engineer requirements.

Typical Installation Sequence

1. Verify rough opening and layout; confirm system frame size 39-1/2" x 121-3/4".
2. Dry-fit components; assemble the pre-fabricated frame (KD) including transom section per instructions.
3. Install pan/sill flashing; bed threshold in continuous sealant; set and plumb the frame.
4. Anchor jambs, head, and transom mullions to pre-cast via embeds/inserts or approved anchors; seal perimeter joints.
5. Install head flashing/drip edge above the transom; integrate with WRB/through-wall flashing where detailed.
6. Adjust closer and hardware to ADA parameters; verify smooth operation and latch engagement.
7. Field glaze the transom: set blocks, install glass from the crate, apply glazing, secure stops; verify weatherseals.
8. Final QA: check clear opening, sweep/latch speeds, and water-shed at sill and head.
