Wall Type & Exterior Weatherproofing

Designed for exterior brick masonry (solid brick or brick veneer over structural backup). The entrance system includes a threshold and sill flashing package intended to work with commercial sealants and proper substrate prep to help prevent water leaks at the exterior wall.

• Prepare a flat, level, and structurally sound sill; coordinate any pan/flashings with the GC.
• Set threshold in continuous sealant; integrate sill flashing to direct water to the exterior.
• Shim jambs, head, and sidelite mullion to maintain plumb, level, and square.
• Apply perimeter backer rod and commercial-grade sealant; tool for a weather-tight finish.
• After frame is sealed and anchored, field install the sidelite glass, set blocks, and glazing stops per instructions.

Anchors into masonry are by installer so embedment, diameter, and material can be matched to the specific brick/backup conditions and engineer requirements.

Typical Installation Sequence (Summary)

1. Verify rough opening, layout, and system frame size 75-1/2" x 85-3/4".
2. Dry-fit frame components; assemble the prefabricated sidelite frame (KD) per instructions.
3. Bed threshold in sealant; integrate sill flashing; set and plumb the entrance frame.
4. Anchor jambs/head/mullion; seal perimeter; adjust hardware and closer to ADA parameters.
5. Install sidelite glass from the crate; set/secure stops and verify weatherseals.
6. Final checks: latch engagement, sweep/latch speeds, clear opening, and water-shed details.
