Aluminum storefront systems are generally non-fire-rated. If a rating is required, select a listed hollow metal/fire-rated assembly.

• Door leaf: 36" x 84" LH medium stile (typ. 3-1/2" vertical stiles), pre-glazed with 1/4" tempered safety glass; clear anodized finish.
• Sidelite assembly: 36" latch-side fixed panel in matching storefront framing; frame ships KD for field assembly.
• Sidelite glass: 1/4" tempered safety glass, crated separately and field installed after frame is set and sealed.
• Exterior sill package: commercial threshold plus sill flashing to integrate with the wall’s drainage plane.

Wall Type & Exterior Weatherproofing - Pre-Cast Concrete

Designed for pre-cast concrete wall panels with joints, reveals, and embedded hardware. The included threshold and sill flashing integrate with the wall’s drainage plane to shed water outward and reduce leak risk at panel interfaces.

• Coordinate with the GC/engineer for embed plates/inserts or structural receiver angles at jambs and head where required.
• Anchorage: use engineer-approved mechanical expansion or adhesive anchors into pre-cast, or fasten to embeds/inserts per project details; verify edge distances and minimum embedment.
• Prepare a flat, level, structurally sound sill; bed threshold in continuous sealant and integrate sill flashing with positive slope to exterior.
• Treat panel control/expansion joints adjacent to the frame with backer rod and compatible sealant; allow for anticipated movement.
• Shim jambs, head, and sidelite mullion to maintain plumb, level, and square; verify clear opening and latch alignment.
• Use compatible sealants for pre-cast substrates; prime where specified by the manufacturer.
• After the frame is anchored and sealed, field install the sidelite glass, set blocks, apply glazing, and secure stops; confirm weatherseals are continuous.

Anchors, embeds, and structural attachment are by installer to match site-specific panel design, engineer requirements, and manufacturer recommendations.

Typical Installation Sequence

1. Verify rough opening; confirm system frame size 75-1/2" x 85-3/4" and layout.
2. Dry-fit components; assemble the prefabricated sidelite frame (KD) per instructions.
3. Install pan/sill flashing and bed threshold in continuous sealant; confirm slope to exterior.
4. Set and plumb the entrance frame; fasten to pre-cast via embeds/inserts or approved anchors.
5. Seal perimeter and adjacent panel joints with backer rod and compatible sealant; tool the bead.
6. Adjust closer and hardware to ADA parameters; verify smooth operation and latch engagement.
7. Install sidelite glass from the crate; set blocks, apply glazing, secure stops; check weatherseals.
8. Final QA: clear opening, sweep/latch speeds, and water-shed at sill and jambs.
