Designed for wood stud wall systems with exterior veneer (brick, stone, or stucco) over a continuous WRB. The included threshold and sill flashing integrate with the wall’s drainage plane to shed water to the exterior and reduce leak risk into the stud cavity.

• Verify continuous WRB behind veneer; integrate pan/sill flashing that positively drains to exterior.
• Prepare a flat, level, structurally sound sill; bed threshold in continuous sealant; include end dams/drip edges where detailed.
• Anchorage: fasten the frame to solid wood framing using structural screws or lag screws; provide blocking or double king/jack studs and a properly sized header as required by the project engineer.
• Shim jambs, head, and sidelite mullion to maintain plumb, level, and square; verify clear opening and latch alignment.
• Perimeter-seal to the WRB or transition membranes with backer rod and commercial-grade sealant; tool joints for a weather-tight finish.
• After the frame is anchored and sealed, field install the sidelite glass, set blocks, apply glazing, and secure stops; confirm weatherseals are continuous.

Substrate anchors and structural reinforcement are by installer so fastener type, length, and spacing match the specific wood framing and veneer assembly per project engineering.

Typical Installation Sequence

1. Verify rough opening; confirm system frame size 75-1/2" x 85-3/4".
2. Dry-fit components; assemble the prefabricated sidelite frame (KD) per instructions.
3. Coordinate WRB; install pan/sill flashing and bed threshold in continuous sealant.
4. Set and plumb the entrance frame; anchor to wood framing with structural or lag screws per schedule; add blocking as needed.
5. Perimeter-seal to WRB/transition membranes; integrate veneer weeps/drip edges per details.
6. Adjust closer and hardware to ADA parameters; verify smooth operation and latch engagement.
7. Install sidelite glass from the crate; set blocks, apply glazing, secure stops; check weatherseals.
8. Final QA: clear opening, sweep/latch speeds, and water-shed at sill and jambs.
