Part 2- Products

2.1 Materials and Fabrication

A. General

1.Thedesign standards shall be based on the 10Series Cross Bar Exit Device, 8500LV (for type 6 exit devices) and 9500LV (for type 1 or type 4 exit devices)exterior activating trim and 896 removable mullions as manufactured by Jackson/C.R.Laurence Co., Inc., P.O. Box 58923, Los Angeles, CA, 90058-0923; Tel: (800)421-6144 or (323) 588-1281 Ext. 7520; Fax (800) 888-6855 or (323) 581-6522;Email: [email protected].

2.Provideadjustable strikes for rim type (type 1 and type 4) and vertical rod type (type6) devices.

3.Verticalrod devices shall incorporate top and bottom bolts that are field adjustablewithout the need of removing any screws or other fastening devices.

4.Rimtype devices shall be furnished with ¾” throw latch bolt.

5.Exteriorlever trim (if required) shall be an ANSI function 08 with either a round orflat lever as directed by architect.

6.Exteriordogging (if required) shall incorporate an 821J cylinder mounting pad andstandard 1” mortised cylinder.

B.MATERIALS

1.Bodyand arm assemblies shall be high tensile strength aluminum.

2.Crossbarshall be extruded tubular aluminum.

3.Mechanicalcomponents shall be stainless and/or hardened steel.

4.Topand bottom bolts shall be plated hardened steel.

5.Strikesand latches shall be sintered steel.

C. FINISHES

1.Manufacturer’sstandard dark bronze anodized (DBZ313) or,

2.Manufacturer’sstandard satin aluminum anodized (US28/628).

Part 3 – Execution

3.1 Installation

A. General

1. Installation shall be inaccordance with the templates and installation instructions packaged with the devicesat the time of manufacture.

2. Installation shall bemade with fasteners packaged with the devices by the manufacturer.

3.2 Adjustment

1. Adjust all exit devicesand trim in accordance with the installation instructions packaged with thematerial at the time of manufacturer.

2. Deliver cylinder keys,dogging keys and adjustment wrenches to owner.
