StorefrontFix Ultimate Storefront Door Lock Cover Plate Kit Installation Instructions

For use with MS Type Deadlocks (Long Throw and Hook Bolt with 1-1/8" Backset, and Deadlatch Locks with 1-1/8" Backset) in Narrow Stile Aluminum Doors.

The StorefrontFix Ultimate Door Lock Cover Plate kit is primarily used for closing the prepared openings of the lock, faceplate, and cylinder holes in the door stile when the lock is removed for the installation of auxiliary hardware. This kit can also be used to re-secure the lock into the door frame when the original holes in the door stile have become stripped out, and no longer hold the lock in place.

Installation Instructions

1. Separate the spacer from the plastic bridge and clean the edges. Save the spacer.

2. Insert the spanner key into top of bridge, carefully inserting bridge into lock cut-out of door stile. Push down on bridge with enough pressure for bridge to clear edge of the cut-out, and then rotate (turn) bridge counterclockwise 90 degrees into position across the door stile. Position each bridge as detailed below. Then remove the key.

For Lock Installation

3a. For purpose of resecuring the lock, insert one bridge at top and bottom of the cut-out. Secure bridges in place with a #6 x 1-1/2" phillips pan head screw. Insert lock into door onto the bridges and secure with (2) #8 5/8" phillips flat head screws provided. Shim as may be required. Complete lock installation with installation cylinders and desired face plate.

For Blank Faceplate / Cylinder Blank Installation

3b. For purpose of removing the lock and closing the faceplate / cylinder holes, insert the third bridge. If door stile is beveled, make certain the small rise on top edge of bridge is positioned to the high side of the door stile after bridge is inserted, in order to compensate for bevel.

4. Place cylinder hole cap over cylinder hole, and through the lock cut-out position the retaining clip across the hold on backside. Insert the 10-32 hex head screw through the retaining clip and secure cap in place. Optional 10-32 x 1-5/8" double ended screw can be used to join both caps together through the style, with the spanner key used to lighten inside cap.

5. Place spacer (from Step 1) on top of each bridge. Install appropriate faceplate (radius or bevel), and fasten with (3) #8 x 5/8" phillips flat head screws. Use additional shims as required to bring faceplate flush with the door style face.
