For standard frames, the hollow metal frame must be installed plumb, square, and free from rack or twist. Secure bracing is required during installation. Improper installation may negatively affect door operation and overall opening performance.
1. Engage Jambs into Head
Position the frame head so that the four tongues located on the jamb align with and engage the corresponding slots in the head.
2. Bend Rabbet Tongues
Bend the rabbet tongues away from the door opening to secure the connection.
3. Bend Back Tongues
Bend the back end tongues toward the wall to further lock the frame components together.
4. Secure Tongues
Using a hammer, bend down the two back-bend tongues in the direction of the arrows.
5. Final Tab Position
Hammer down the two rabbet tongues in the direction of the arrows, ensuring the tab is fully bent outward and properly seated.
Confirm the frame remains square, plumb, and properly aligned prior to anchoring to the wall.
