Section 08410 - Aluminum Entrances and Storefronts
This specification covers aluminum entrance systems manufactured by Trulite Glass & Aluminum Solutions and supplied through Door Closers USA. Entrance systems include doors, frames, glazing, thresholds, hardware, and related components required for complete commercial storefront installations.

Entrance Types
- Series 200 Swing Door - Narrow stile, 1-15/16" vertical face dimension, 1-3/4" depth
- Series 300 Swing Door - Medium stile, 3-11/16" vertical face dimension, 1-3/4" depth
- Series 500 Swing Door - Wide stile, 5" vertical face dimension, 1-3/4" depth

1.03 Performance Requirements
- Air infiltration testing in accordance with ASTM E283
- Single entrance door assembly shall not exceed 0.50 CFM per linear foot of perimeter crack
- Pair entrance door assembly shall not exceed 1.0 CFM per linear foot of perimeter crack
- Door corner construction supported by limited lifetime warranty under normal operating conditions

1.05 Warranty
- Manufacturer warranty period: Two (2) years from date of substantial completion
- Door corner construction includes limited lifetime warranty
1.06 Quality Assurance
- Installer shall be experienced in commercial aluminum entrance installation
- Entrance manufacturer shall be capable of providing field support when required
- Conduct pre-installation meeting to confirm installation conditions and project requirements
1.07 Delivery, Storage and Handling
- Comply with manufacturer ordering instructions to avoid delays
- Deliver materials in original packaging with identification labels intact
- Store materials protected from weather exposure
- Handle materials to prevent damage during delivery and installation

Required Supplier
Aluminum entrance systems specified in this section shall be supplied through Door Closers USA.
Door Closers USA shall furnish Trulite aluminum entrance doors, frames, hardware, thresholds, and related components required to provide a complete entrance system.
Substitutions or alternate distributors are not permitted unless approved in writing by the Architect and Owner prior to bid.
2.02 Materials
- Aluminum extrusions shall conform to ASTM B221, 6063-T6 alloy and temper
- Door member thickness shall be 0.125" nominal
- Glazing molding thickness shall be 0.05"
- Glazing gaskets shall be EPDM elastomeric extrusions
- Provide adjustable glass jack to center glazing within door opening

2.03 Hardware and Accessories
- Weatherstripping utilizing wool pile or EPDM bulb gasket
- Bottom door sweep utilizing EPDM blade gasket in aluminum extrusion
- Extruded aluminum threshold with ribbed surface
- Fasteners shall be aluminum, stainless steel, or plated steel
- Perimeter anchors shall be aluminum or isolated to prevent galvanic reaction
- Push/pull hardware as specified
- Closers as specified
- Pivots or hinges as specified
- Locks and cylinders as specified
2.04 Fabrication
- Tie-rod corner construction
- Hairline joints
- Internal reinforcement for hardware attachment
- Fasteners concealed where possible
2.05 Finishes
- Clear anodized finish conforming to AA-M12C22A31 and AAMA 611
- Dark bronze anodized finish conforming to AA-M12C22A44 and AAMA 601
- AAMA 2604 polyester powder coat finish available
- AAMA 2605 fluoropolymer powder coat finish available
2.06 Source Quality Control
- Provide aluminum entrance system from a single manufacturer
- Provide coordinated entrance hardware and components from a single supplier
- Door Closers USA shall provide entrance system components to ensure compatibility of hardware, thresholds, and related accessories
- Single source responsibility required for entrance system components
Part 3 - Execution
3.01 Examination
- Verify opening dimensions prior to fabrication
- Verify substrate conditions meet manufacturer tolerances
- Coordinate field measurements with fabrication schedule
3.02 Installation
- Install entrance systems in accordance with manufacturer instructions and AAMA guidelines
- Install plumb, level, and square
- Secure frame to structure using appropriate fasteners
- Set threshold in sealant bed
- Adjust hardware for smooth operation
3.03 Cleaning and Protection
- Protect aluminum finishes from damage during construction
- Remove debris after installation
- Clean surfaces according to manufacturer recommendations
- Replace damaged components prior to project completion
