Cal-Royal CR441 Surface-Mount Door Closer — Heavy-Duty Grade 1, Adjustable Size 1–6, Friction Hold-Open Arm, Top Jamb/Regular/Parallel, Aluminum Finish
The Cal-Royal CR441 is a heavy-duty, ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 surface-mount door closer equipped with a friction hold-open arm for set-and-stay convenience during busy periods. With adjustable spring power Size 1–6, independent closing and latch speed control, and backcheck, the CR441 delivers smooth, reliable performance across a wide range of commercial openings. The clean aluminum finish complements storefront and interior applications.
How the Friction Hold-Open Works
- Open the door to a preset angle and the arm’s friction detent holds it open for hands-free passage.
- Release by pulling the door past the detent; closer returns to self-closing mode.
- Hold-open tension is adjustable to suit site conditions (within arm/installation limits).
Flexible Mounting Options
- Regular (pull-side) mounting on the door
- Top jamb (push-side) mounting on the frame
- Parallel arm (push-side) mounting for low-profile, tamper-resistant installs
