Solid core wood doors are typically the most abused doors in a commercial building and are generally interior doors, exit doors, or storage doors of some type. Designed For Commercial Solid Core Wood Doors
The majority of pull plates on the market are only designed for residential home doors. Although they may be advertised as commercial grade products, these residential pull plates often feature a thin aluminum backing plate and skinny pull handle tac welded onto the plate. Typically if these residential grade pull plates are installed on commercial wood doors it results in the pull handle falling off, or the backing plate bending, due to the thin gauge aluminum plate used and weak tac welding of the handle. Commercial wood doors receive a lot of foot traffic compared to residential doors and as a result need a commercial door pull plate handle. It features a thicker back plate manufactured from stainless steel that will not bend or deform from use.
