Hager 5100 Series Surface Mount Door Closer – Heavy-Duty Grade 1, Adjustable 1–6, ADA Barrier Free, Gold, 5954 Extra Heavy Duty Hold-Open Cushion Stop Arm (Parallel Arm Mount Only – Not for Fire Rated Doors)

The Hager 5100 Series Heavy-Duty Surface Door Closer with the 5954 Extra Heavy Duty Hold-Open Cushion Stop Arm is engineered for demanding, high-traffic facilities such as schools, universities, and offices. Rated to Grade 1 (ANSI A156.4) with adjustable power sizes 1–6, it provides smooth, controlled closing on doors up to 330 lbs. This closer is parallel arm mount only and features an adjustable hold-open function combined with a built-in cushion stop that helps absorb over-travel and protect both the door and frame.

⚠️ Important Safety Note: Because this arm includes a hold-open function, it is not approved for use on fire-rated doors. Hold-open closers may prevent doors from closing automatically in the event of a fire.

Important Notes

  • ADA/Barrier Free Adjustment: Any BHMA/ANSI A156.4 certified closer, including the 5100, when adjusted to ADA or other reduced opening force requirements, may not always provide sufficient power to reliably close and latch a door.
  • Temperature Range: Recommended for prolonged use between -40°F (-42°C) and 150°F (66°C).
  • Arms & Adders: If arms are ordered separately, pricing will differ compared to purchasing a complete assembly. Adders may apply (add the option’s list price to the closer list price and take standard discounts).
  • Finish Availability: Accessories may not be available in all finishes; confirm availability and lead time.
