Steel-Lite™ Hollow Metal Door for Existing Drywall Opening 38" x 85" — LH Reverse, KD Frame for 2x4 Wood Stud Wall

Designed for retrofit applications, this Steel-Lite™ assembly is built to fit an existing drywall opening 38" wide x 85" tall with a 2x4 wood stud wall and 1/2" drywall on each side (4-5/8" overall wall thickness). Proudly USA made, it provides a clean, accurate fit without the need for full wall demolition. Typical lead time: 3–4 weeks.

Application Fit

  • Opening Size: Engineered to retrofit an existing 38" wide x 85" tall drywall opening.
  • Wall Condition: For 2x4 wood stud walls with 1/2" gypsum each side (4-5/8" overall).
  • Handing: Left Hand Reverse (LHR) swing.
  • Use Case: Ideal for interior renovations, tenant improvements, and facility upgrades.

Door Construction

  • Skins: 18-gauge steel with prime gray, paint-ready finish.
  • Core: Polystyrene insulated core (non-rated) for thermal efficiency and rigidity.
