Commercial saddle thresholds are one of the most important components of a commercial entrance door. Saddle thresholds are standard on hollow metal doors and aluminum storefront doors and act as a barrier at the bottom of the door to keep out wind draft, debris, and bugs. All American Strength Tested
Unlike competitor thresholds, All American saddle thresholds are engineered with key support points in the threshold, allowing it to support heavier loads. The extrusion profile is also manufactured with thicker aluminum profile. This means that no matter how heavy the front entrance door foot traffic may be, the All American threshold will hold up. Unfortunately, there are many competitor thresholds advertised as a commercial threshold but in reality are residential grade. Due to the thin threshold profile and lack of extrusion support, these thresholds bend and dent under any load or even light foot traffic if used on a commercial door. ADA Compliance
All American saddle thresholds are ADA compliant. ADA was passed by law in 1990, and requirements deem that the bottom threshold on ADA door must also be ADA compliant. Our products are the proper threshold width, rise, and material, meeting ADA compliance.
UL Listed
All American threshold products are UL Listed products. This means that we have the certification for All American thresholds to be installed in any commercial building. UL certification is extremely important, and unfortunately many competitor thresholds on the market today are very inexpensive, but this is because they lack UL certification due to their inferior material, profile thickness, and overall design. Without a UL certification the threshold should not be installed in a commercial building. With All American thresholds you don't have to worry, as our products are fully certified by UL and can be installed in any commercial door nation wide.
Fire Rated
Per NFPA 80 requirements any fire rated door should also be outfitted with fire rated door hardware. This includes the bottom door threshold. All emergency exit doors and stairwell doors are fire rated, as a result the door threshold should be too. All American saddle thresholds are UL10B Fire Rated as a standard, allowing them to be installed on any commercial fire rated hollow metal door. You can check if your door is fire rated by swinging the door open, there will be a fire label near the top hinge. If you install a non fire rated threshold on a fire rated door, you are not only disregarding NFPA 80 requirements as well as International Building Code (IBC), but you are also creating a very unsafe and dangerous door system.
